The Brief

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Next Step Films was approached by the Reverend Luiz Lima to provide live video coverage and streaming of their annual Christingle event. What made this event special was that it was due to be held in an open air location, with the congregation sat in their cars! The event would be staged, with relevant sound and lighting, along with large LED screens for video relay and graphics. We were asked to provide live camera coverage, graphics and live streaming capability, so the congregation, in their cars, could get a better view of the action on the stage and those who were unable to attend could enjoy the event at home.

Our Approach

To ensure we covered all aspects of the event we decided to make use of a multi-camera setup, making use of an operated camera to capture close ups and a wide shot of the stage which was unmanned. For our audio provision we took a feed from the PA desk along with positioning several microphones to capture the atmosphere of the event. We worked alongside the church’s media and communications team to feed introductory video material, graphics and singalong subtitles, which was fed into the vision mixer to create a spectacular live steam.

The Result

With prior planning and preparation we ensured a successful event, with the live stream being viewed over 1,018 times, reaching over 1,300 people across the churches Facebook & YouTube Channels.
